My USB Wireless adapter is dying!!

I got this usb wireless dongle from MyMemory.co.uk and it never seems to connect properly.

I've used the windows software to manage the connection and it's using WPA security but sometimes we can start up the desktop and it will simply not connect to the router. My laptop (built-in wireless) always connects first time but the usb wireless sometimes needs to be repaired or disconnected/connected before it works properly.

I've contacted MyMemory who haven't replied to any emails over 2 weeks though I accept this is a slow week to reply.

Are there troubleshooting steps I can try? I don't even know the make/model of this usb dongle it doesn't say on the unit or packaging. :wall: Hope someone can help :)

Should I just consider getting a Netgear brand one which may work better with my router?
That, is an excellent question...

Have you set it up as follows?:
Assuming that everything is working, right click on your wireless network icon, view available wireless networks, change advanced settings, wireless networks, highlight your ssid, properties, connection. Make sure "connect when this network is in range" is ticked. Click OK, advanced, make sure Access point (Infrastrucure) networks only is selected, and automatically connect to non-preferred networks is unticked.

I had to change the bullet point to "Access point (Infrastructure)" as it was set on the top option, whatever that was. I'll look at the sticky before posting back here! :rotfl: Sorry I missed it :o and thanks
