shop or manufacturer replacement

Options
Just returned a bike trainer that has a fault to the shop I purchased it from (via internet). I asked them to arrange collection of the trainer for replacement. This they have done.
I emailed them for an estimate of how long would it be before I received a replacement.

They have just emailed me to say that the trainer has been returned to the manufacturer and are awaiting a reply from them.

Can I insist that the shop sends me a replacement ?
or do I have to wait for them to get a reply from the manufacturer ?

regards
Harry

i think you have to wait for a reply-the manufacturer will decide whether its repairable or they will tell the retailer to issue a replacement

    thanks for the quick reply

    :)
  • How long after you received the trainer did you notice the fault?
This timescale will make a difference to your legal rights as if the fault was there on delivery or within a short time afterwards then you are entitled to reject the goods and ask a refund if you so wish and you don't have to accept a repair.

Also, any remedy should not cause a significant convenience.

I think you meant inconvenience. ;):D
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark
