    Interesting...

I saw the documentaries about the easycruise western Med - seemed to be aimed at "get off, get ratted, onward to the next hangover" ("party people"). Not for me these days, but a good concept.

Can't see it working the same with the chosen islands, but could be a good intro to some of the less touristy bits.
  • I've been on easyCruise and it really is not like that at all! The reality would make for incredibly boring TV. The boat was very quiet indeed.

Tell us more Zappo - did you do a "round trip" or just a few days, what's the food and drink like (presumably pay as you go on these), did the plaggy bit in the shower tray really solve the sloshing problem?
  • I did Nice to Nice during its first year. Food and drink was fairly reasonably priced, the food nothing amazing but reliable if you really couldn't be bothered to seek out a restaurant on shore. You can download the food and drink menus on the easyCruise website. The staff were all very friendly and the ship absolutely spotlessly clean. The main bar/diner was usually dead, with most people preferring the cocktail bar on the hot tub deck. In the refit they've changed the Sports bar into something a bit more stylish and appealing.

Not having a window made getting up in the morning a bit of a strange experience but nothing too awful.

Things did seem a bit disorganised at times, but I put that down to the fact it had only been running a month or so.

Since I went it looks like they've got rid of most of the orange and improved the food offerings, and added a sauna.

As to the shower drainage issue, I went too early on for any solutions to have been tried. I spoke to Stellios on board and he said his cabin had the same problem (shower didn't completely drain away and would sometimes leak onto the cabin floor).

I'm trying easyCruise from Brussels to Amsterdam this June, a whole week works out at £100 each including Eurostar from London to Brussels!
