My mate is selling his 360 with a HD DVD addon for £270. It's also got 4 games and the hard disc. I think the 360 is about a year old. Is it a good deal or not?
He's selling it cos he has bought a stand-alone Hd DVD player

I'd say snap it up mate, you're looking at over £400 for a premium 360, then the HD-add on, not to mention the 4 games, whatever they may be on top of that!
Sounds like a bargain, i'd get on it before he sticks it on ebay!!!0 -
I mean over £400 for the xbox, WITH the HD-DVD add on of course, not just for the console, so yeah tis a good price!!0

the 360 premium comes with a harddrive. Check out the deals online with say game or gamestation then decide. There are some good deals around. Be sure you are looking at the premium system not the cheaper 'core' system. Its 12mnths old and the 360 is known for some hardware issues. I'd be tempted to buy a new package then offer your mate some money for the games you want, simply to get the 12mnth warrantee. Newer 360s also had small hardware tweaks to avoid some of the problems with the older ones. I'd decide whether you need the hd-dvd add-on. DO you have any hd-dvds??0

went and bought the xbox today and rigged it up on my plasma screen. The video quality of the HD DVD is fantastic worth ever penny. We have started up our own HD DVD library between usNothing to see here, move along.0

Point out to your mate that the 360's High Definition DVD drive is actually getting better reviews than the current Toshiba HD-DVD drives in terms of picture quality in playback. He might want to think twice.
Unless, of course, you want his 360, in which case £270 for the 360 premium + 4 games is only a saving of about £30 or so on current retail prices, if you go to the right places, so it may not be worth it.0 -
Xbox 360 premium with wireless pad, PGR3, live arcade, Viva pinata - £279.99 @ Game
HD-DVD Player - £100 @ Playasia
Alot of the older games are now coming down in price £10-15.
You could prob buy it all new for £400ish so its not a bad deal but bear in mind you have no guarantee, the prices ARE falling, I wouldnt spend too much on HD-DVD until the "War" between HD-DVD and Blu-ray is over, you dont want to be stuck with hundreds of pounds of films and a player which you cant buy any new films for.0
