Got a Thomas yesterday and my boy would not put it down! I got one off the shelf but the SA said it might not scan as it might have to be the ones that "they sent in" (under the till ones?). I told her the paper says to get one off the shelf and it scanned anyway.0

Just got back from Merry Hill. All sold out and don't know if they are getting any more. So well done to the people who have had three or four as now my year old niece won't get one!0

Gutted about this offer, wanted a set for a young disabled man who is going to be 15, but has dexterity problems and a mental age of about 4, so a perfect gift.
Got Thomas early saturday morning thankfully, but on the next visit was told they had all gone (for the entire promotion) on saturday!!!!! Well whats the point of printing a voucher a day if the shops aren't given a daily allocation or seperate what they have into a dialy allocation????
Now penned (typed) a letter to the local store manager to be hand delivered today.......
Not the first time this store has let me down! My son never got a voucher he won at a fete last year, only something nominal like £5, we went to CS and, after 20 mins of discussion and waiting were told someone would call us...... They never did!!! We gave up on it in the end!
'Toys R NOT Us' here!!! :mad:0 -

Can't help but think that this is a dig. Yes its a shame that some people missed out. In most cases though, it may be parents who could not normally afford to pay £5.99 per toy for their child that were able to treat them, or put them away for gifts. I know that I planned to go in each day and pick up the toys, I was just lucky that my parents picked up two toys for me. Myself and my other half picked up one on seperate days so no rules broken there.
I will happily state that I got 4 of the toys and they will be going away for my LO's Christmas stocking. Christmas will be tight this year so all bargains are welcome.
TBH a one year is not going to realise that she missed out on this, my 2 year old certainly won't realise (or care) that mummy couldn't get all 6 of the toys in the promotion, he'll be happy with what he's got.
FWIW Livingston branch has no more stock.0 -
Our local Toys R Us wouldn't accept more than one so my OH picked up a Thomas. We will both go back tomorrow and get one each, my parents are also going to do the same, will then either attempt a second time with a different checkout person or go back on Monday.
Hmm, yes I am having a dig. It's not really rocket science what I am trying to say. Your previous post above is a lovely example. the voucher clearly says ONE per HOUSEHOLD. As as for your remark that a one year old will not miss out anyway - that is NOT the point. Her mother is single and on benefits and she would have loved ONE of these. What with this and the Ocado thread I feel a lot of greedy people on here are spoiling it for others. I also think it would be a good idea to keep your opinions to yourself from now on instead of rubbing salt in the wound and bragging about what you have done!!! :money:0 -
I rang my toysrus this morning and theyve said if you phone your local store and leave your name and number, as the majority of stores are restocking thur they will honour the vouchers for those people THUR ONLY due to lack of stock throughout for the whole promo.
Not good for me as I work til 10pm on thur but hope some can ring and get their name down to have them savedThe art of being happy is to be satisfied with what you have

I went into my local toysrus today and the shelf was empty. I asked at the till if they would be getting anymore in and was told a delivery was coming tomorrow but that they were extending the offer to allow collection on Thursday. I wasn't asked to leave my name.0
