What did you do with your bridesmaid dress after the wedding?

Well I had an old prom dress that was altered to fit me. I listed it on ebay saying it fits a certain height/size.etc
My bridesmaid's dress is still in my wardrobe as it was specially made from material, not bought. My mum put a lot of work into it! It's actually a skirt/top combo as oppose to a dress. I might sell the bolero that I bought to match it though.
I tried it on last year and I was happy to discover that the skirt was a bit too big for me lol.0 -
I had a coast dress for a friends wedding and I sold it and the accessories that came with it on ebay. It was just not to my taste and I would never have worn it again.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

Maybe that's more simple, especially with suitable size bridesmaid dresses...0 -
I got mine taken off me (more like stolen) by the bride and sold because she needed money. This was a few years after the wedding!!0

i have a full length dress from the dessy collection, not sure how much my sister paid for it, but know it wasn't cheap!!my plan is to have it shortened to knee length and have some light netting put in
it's fitted on the top half with light boning, an open back and long lengths of fabric that criss cross over your back, around the waist then tie at the back of the waist
i'm pretty sure i will like it in a shorter length, and will defo wear it again like that, but wont while its still long!! 1 adult, 3 children-Newborn and ages 4 & 6, 1 rabbitbudget of £250 is for food, toiletries, nappies, wipes, cleaning/washing products and pet supplies (litter, sawdust, food)0 -
Maybe I can make the bridesmaid dresses into a fitted cocktail dress. shortenning to knee length is quite a good idea.MumOf2Beasties wrote: »i have a full length dress from the dessy collection, not sure how much my sister paid for it, but know it wasn't cheap!!my plan is to have it shortened to knee length and have some light netting put in

If you're feeling really kind and want an idea that helps others as well as clearing out your wardrobe.
why not donate your dress to noweddingwithoutyou.org.uk(website) which is a couple getting married and raising money for the west of England Multiple Sclerosis therapy centre a charity that helps people not only with MS but other condtions such as Cancert, chronic fatigue, arthrtis and many more.
If you donate your dress (actually anything weddingy more info on another post on this site not sure how to link them help please
) to their wedding they will give a donation to the MS therapy centre so everyones a winner and the items thay cangt use wil get auctioned to riase more funds to keep the therpaies being availble at a subsidised price.
cheers everyone
ps link on http://www.mstherapybristol.org.uk or type in MS therapy centre Bristol/Nailsea or no wedding without you and you'll find all the info you need!0 -
