FREE nights at Lindner hotels in Germany

Lindner hotels are giving members of the EU a discount based on their distance from the hotel. For people in the UK, lots of their hotels are 100% off and you can have a saturday night away for nothing!
There seems to be good availability at the moment for stays up until September.

Not sure how long this will last though

Hi not sure this is a no spend freebie as you have to get to Germany.

    Gift horse? Mouth? :D

However you look at it, the hotel can be free. I booked a 2-night city stay (room only) and a 3-night resort stay (b&b) and am in for a total of €0.00 for the 5 nights. :)

Quibbling about transport is like complaining that free cinema tockets don't include the bus fare to the cinema. :rotfl:

I'm not sure if bus fare is comparable with a flight. You can't be 100% sure if the deal gets honored or what quality will the rooms be. Sounds too good to be true...

It could be if you get a £1 flight from Ryanair

And perhaps the end of the world will take place before the stay. How would you get a refund? ;)

I've stayed at Lindner hotels and am satisfied with their quality. This promotion is for a limited number of rooms in the off season which could otherwise be unsold. This way, the hotels hope they can get some turnover from guests' expenditure on extras, though it's not compulsory.

bex4adz's mention of Ryanair cheap fares is an example. Nobody would believe that £1 (or whatever) covers the complete costs of the flight. But O'Liary is hoping that passengers will pay £££ or €€€ for his expensive snacks and drinks, also baggage, scratchcards etc with Ryanair ending up in profit.

The hotels aren't exactly in the most interesting parts of Germany are they? I note that Cottbus for instance is known solely for its football team and for lignite extraction in open pits around the town http://wikitravel.org/en/Cottbus. Maybe you can do a tour of the pits.

I've stayed in the Hoxton in London for £1 per night a few times and that has been lovely. Inclusive of breakfast for two, as well.

The rooms at the Lindner hotels look alright and if I could have found some cheap flights, I would have definitely gone for it. Would be interested to hear if any MSErs take up this offer and how cheap they can make the entire holiday! :D
