Christmas Techie sales!

Not being one for Marks and Sparks/Debenhams et al, I am wanting to spend my easy earned Christmas currency in the technological market this year, and was wondering if any other money savers knew much about sales when it comes to comet (and all high street leccy shops) or dabs and similar (internet based shops) and the purchasing of their spangly new televisual boxes.
I wanna buy (hmm, maybe should be on another thread ) a new Sony 40W2000 (its a tv), but am waiting for the price to sneak down just that little bit more. Its currently in the region of £1460 best price on a few internet sites, and high street has it for something like £1600 odd at best. Does anyone have experience of these prices coming down much after Christmas/In the New Year, or do we have to wait for the 'next best thing' to be released before the older versions lower their prices? Getting closer to a grand would be nice, I cant see it getting lower any time soon, but a hundred quid off would be decent enough and get it to around the £1300 mark!
Any help/ideas/comments would be very much appreciated. It would also be preferable to pay for it by interest free installments, so I guess the high street are almost certainly out of the equasion there!
