Not sure what you mean. As the laptop is connected, try IE, Tools, Internet Options, Never dial a connection Apply OK. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

I have connected the laptop to the router and the connection is active.
What I can't do is set the laptop to have and IE page to access the internet. It has the old freeserve page and it says:-
forbidden
You were denied access because:
Access denied by access control list.
I don't know where to alter the internet settings.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

If it is connected to the router via a cable, you shouldn't need to change anything in IE. The "Microsoft IE provided by Freeserve" is just branding that has been added when Freeserve was installed.
If you open your network connections and highlight your network card, followed by Change settings of this connection. Then highlight Internet Protocol TCP/IP then click Properties. Are both Obtain an IP and Obtain DNS boxes checked? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
do you mean just setting up a default hompage? if so, it's just <internet options> general tab and type in the default home page you'd like.
or is the problem deeper than that?Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc0 -
