You could afford to go lower on the freezer and spend a bit more on the washing machine (more to go wrong) You'd get a Bosch integrated washer from a bit over £600.

(or cheaper if you shop around)

Whirlpool is a truly awful brand at the moment with absolutely unbelievable Mark ups on spares (honestly you would think they were made of solid gold) and the quality of product is terrible.

Also avoid a brand called Prima for the same reasons a lot of their stuff is made by whirlpool.

Another vote for Bosch appliances (for those of us who can't quite afford Miele) :p

If it's only for utility can you do freestanding? Cheaper and more choice.

AS an alternative, like devotee above I would go with freestanding certainly on the washing machine.
With a limited budget you will get far better, maybe even a Siemens on the washing machine rather than an overpriced integrated model that will be smaller inside as well. Also check out the warranty on the integrated and see if it is as comprehensive as the equivalent freestanding one. i beleiev integrated appliance are both more expensive for less and more prone to going wrong

thanks, was looking at the bosch integrated ones yesterday for about £577 1400 spin cycle and 7kg load, i know nothing abotu washing machines, as you can probably guess we have had our zanussi for 10 years and its still going strong.

trouble is we want it to have a kitchen door on it and thats the reason for being integrated so it all blends in, so if we can i would like it hidden away behind a door.

and the missus wants a frost free freezer which is this one, (shame as i can get a un-frost free for about £250!!!!)

just seen on the electrolux someone has asked the question whether it will accept a kitchen door, so perhaps that ones not integrated...
