Faulty Repairs by approved car repairer

Help I am at the end of my tether 3 years ago in march my car was side swiped by a lorry my car was removed by the insurer (esure) to their approved repair centre Allied Vehicles in Glasgow in March this year the repairs failed (2 doors rusted as missing door membrane paint flaking off) I contact Esure who told me to return it to Allied Vehicles who would repair it. My car was returned to me 5 weeks later with a two orange tinted doors instead of red water running back into the car (missing membranes again) and the inside door panels damaged and the paint still set on the inside after consulting the Financial ombudsman Esure said that I could take my car to a Jaguar dealer and that an independant assesser would look at it. The repairs for the paintwork were approved. On friday esures engineer contacted us to tell us that the total repairs for the car caused by the damage caused by their approved repairer were now meaning that the car would need to be written off. I have had my car for less than two weeks since March yet have had to tax insure and mot it . I have spoken to the insurance company today and feel that I am going around in circles surely if the repairs damaged the door panels it is up to them to replace them at no point have they compensated me for the inconvenience caused to me

It is up to them to ensure you are in the same economic position. If repairs cost more than the vehicle is worth they are entitled to settle on a vehicle value basis.

The claim for other losses is a separate matter which you should bring up with your complaints handler.
