Chauffered car

It is a proper company. Why are you under the impression that it isn't a proper company? They take the richest people in the world all over the country so they're reputable. Just thought that having a chauffeur take someone that distance would prove very expensive, so it would be handy to have someone recommend a company that is reasonable.
Yeah but if they have same disregard road laws as yourself I would rather walk!!Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -
A quick google shows a chaufffeur will cost around £300 one way. A cheap 1st class train ticket would be about £40 (depends on day/time) and a full price 1st class is only £200. Given that you know what day you will be travelling and could pick a suitably timed train I would opt to travel 1st class by train. The hospital may even supply a wheelchair/crouches to use, if not you may be able to book assistance at Euston station. Also the train will only be 2hrs compared to about 4hrs by car depending on traffic.
Its an option but how far is the hospital from the train station and how far is home from the train station, add in taxi fares to and from you aren't going to be saving a great. Add to the fact you have just come out of hospital do you really want to wait around a train station for a train that maybe delayed having the hustle and bustle of people and potentially getting knocked over etc.
Its not worth the hassle I would have the comfort of a car to myself that would pick up from outside the hospital and drop me at my door in one go.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -
If its the first Monday in September, I'll give you a lift.
I wont be far from London and I need to pass Manchester on my way home.0 -
Frankly, if you can afford not to, don't take the train. My mum had a bunion operation last October and she was in a pretty bad way afterwards. Obviously no weight on the foot but also it was very uncomfortable for her to sit up straight with her feet on the floor as it caused swelling. She was also in quite a lot of pain. It was a 10 minute drive to take her home from hospital and it wasn't very comfortable for her. Take a taxi/car. You could sit in the back and turn sideways on and have your foot up on the seat, even on a pillow if you wanted.
As someone else said earlier, why do you want a chauffeured car specifically? A private hire taxi would do exactly the same job but be cheaper.
Chauffered cars are good if you have a full day of meetings and want a car to take you to each one, wait in between etc. We hire them for days when the head of our company comes over from Hong Kong. For a single one way trip though, a taxi will be better value.0 -

Do stop Pitkin, you keep trying to make it all so personal. I don't run the company or work for the company so it's highly unlikely that I'll have any influence over the drivers, is it? Be realistic and stop being so childish. I mentioned it as I thought it might be of use since it's relevant to what the OP said. If it isn't then so be it, just thought I'd try to help.Never argue with an idiot; they'll bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.0 -

I'll do it, for a donation to my charity.
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
