I didnt reply so you could pick my answer apart, I was trying to help the OP. Lots of people have posted saying no probs the air hostess's will sort it. I was just saying that they wont.
Also having your toddler sat a few rows away might not bother some people but personally I want my kids near me, not bothering other people, so I pay for priority booking (and my kids are teens).
People who have small children shouldnt rely on other passengers moving, they should either be first in the queue or book the priority boarding.
Also kids arent allowed to wander up and down the plane when the seat belt light is lit, and it shouldnt be up to strangers to make sure your child remains in there seat belt. Thats the parents responsibilty.
The family that got on last on our flight used the seats for take off and landing, and had the kids on there knee for the remainder of the flight as they didnt like being so far away.
And for the sick bag comment, I would hold the bag for them so they didnt get sick everywhere! I dont hate children, I have my own, but I would always do everything within my power to ensure I was holding there sick bag not a stranger.£100 - £10,0000 -
You will end up with one on each wing and you in the cockpit with R/air0

So was I.Lots of people have posted saying no probs the air hostess's will sort it. I was just saying that they wont.
Or other passengers will, like others have said. I've moved seats loads of times when travelling alone, on planes & trains, so that families with young kids can sit together. I'd probably do it now even if it meant sitting apart from my family - my kids are old enough and confident enough not to need me within a few feet. Also having your toddler sat a few rows away might not bother some people
Toddler, yes I'd agree. But once they're in school they should have the confidence to sit a few rows away for their parentsbut personally I want my kids near me, not bothering other people, so I pay for priority booking (and my kids are teens).

Well I never have and never will, neither "priority boarding" or pre-allocation of seats. We've been on doxens of flights including when the kids were young - never had a problem. It's yet another con to extract more money out of passengers for nothing. Also kids arent allowed to wander up and down the plane when the seat belt light is lit, and it shouldnt be up to strangers to make sure your child remains in there seat belt. Thats the parents responsibilty.
Thanks for your concern, but my kids, at age about 7-9 as I remember, were perfectly aware of the seat belt sign and what it means. The family that got on last on our flight used the seats for take off and landing, and had the kids on there knee for the remainder of the flight as they didnt like being so far away.

The concept of humour is lost on you isn't it:)0 -
Kids are definately not able to sit next to their parents unless other passengers offer to move. A family were last on the plane when we were coming back from Tenerife, 2 adults a child age 7/8 and a child aged 3/4. They were all sat seperately, the youngest sat next to my 2 children with one parent a couple of rows back.....
...Forgot to add this was on Tuesday

Hi Miamoo, sorry if you felt that my posting was picking your answer apart. That was not meant at all. I have seen people move willingly to accommodate a family who got on to the plane late; you have seen what happens when they don't.
I just think that it is a shame that more people don't look out for others and be kind to one another. I am not pointing the finger at those who have paid extra to secure the "best" seats. Nothing wrong with that: it subsidises my ticket price slightly. But I have become far more proactive when sitting next to an empty seat on the train. When two people get on together at a later station I make a point of offering to move (and sit by a stranger ) so they can have two seats together. I was likely to be sitting next to (another) stranger in any case.

My reply wasnt aimed at you. It was the other poster who said if the passenger didnt move they would infer their kid would be sick on them. I didnt pay extra for the best seat.
I paid extra so I could be guaranteed to sit by my kids. If I was on a bus/train etc then of course I would move, but when I have paid extra then I shouldnt have to, and I think its unfair that your implying i'm an unkind person just because I wouldnt move because I want to sit next to my own children!
The fact that Ryanair charge to get on the plane first isnt the issue, and I never said anyone had to pay for priority boarding, but in my opinion familys with small children should get to the gate first, so they can sit together, I'm not really sure why anyone would have an issue with this??!!£100 - £10,0000 -
Also my comments were based on the ages of the children I mentioned in my first post, the youngest being 3/4yrs old, I wasnt commenting on your children, and I had no idea how old they were!£100 - £10,0000

A few weeks ago, we travelled with ryanair, and due to a problem with our long stay parking at the airport we ended up being the last ones to board the plane, we have 2 kids aged 7 and 5. My husband and son ended up with seats across the aisle from each other at the back of the plane, and my daughter had to sit in front of me in the seats nearest to the aisle at the front of the plane. So we were all separated. So, the air hostess's do what they can to get you seats as near to each other as much as possible, but if its not possible, then you will be separated.0

I think this is classed as next to each other (across aisle, directly in front/behind).My husband and son ended up with seats across the aisle from each other at the back of the plane, and my daughter had to sit in front of me in the seats nearest to the aisle at the front of the plane.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.
