  • Another one to add is driving theory tests where if you aren't careful you end up paying £19 extra to sit the test than if you go through the official website.
Hi my daughter just got caught for £31!!!! for an admin fee by using a copy cat website, to book her driving theory test!

Surely this cant be right!!! I am so angry, not with her, but with the DVLA, for allowing these sites to be able to book on behalf of others!!

You could try suing them in the small claims court on grounds of misrepresentation. You might have to work hard to make an argument that it is misrepresentation - but my feeling is that a company like this could back down rather than lose in court.

Makes it kind of pointless. They take ages "investigating", then eventually close them down, then they spring back up under another name.

Unless the owners are heavily fined or the watchdog closes them down on the day they start up it's easy money and nothing will change.
'fake websites' of al lsorts are a big problem o nthe internet, be it the medical thing, fake loan websites, counterfeit goods website.s

it would be much better if Govt depts could close down websites - but the public will never agree to it - so what you end up with is a very long laborious process to close down even 1 site which then pops up later.
