Travelodge Gatwick Central

Hi All

Managed to bag myself a room at £10 for the Travelodge Gatwick central the night before we fly, i know it gets bad reviews but for £10 as long as there is a bed and shower I'm happy!

Now my question is has anyone walked to the Tesco which is within a mile, looking on the map it looks like you would need to walk down A217 (which looks like a bad idea as there is no footpath) or is there a path near where the BUPA hospital is, i would look on google maps but it doens't go down that road.

Thanks

It's not an easy walk. The A23 is a very busy road. No pavements as such, mainly grass verges. It's not impossible to walk but I'd suggest a taxi for safety sake.

You should be able to view the route on Googles Streetmap.

There is a petrol station next door if it is just snacks and drinks you are thinking of buying.

Things are not going well at Gatwick Central Travelodge. My reservation this month has been cancelled by Travelodge who say "Unfortunately, due to an unforeseen incident, we have had to close the hotel for your stay." What do we think that is?

They've moved me to another Travelodge without additional charge.

  • We managed to walk to the Tesco to stock up on a few beers and snacks for our stay at Travelodge. It's not a difficult walk IMO but there footpath is only on one side of the road.

  • The Travelodge Gatwick Central is currently closed due to a fire they had a few weeks ago. I rang TL customer service who advised me that it is due to re-open the third week in December. I hope so as the reviews for the other Gatwick TL at Lowfield Heath are dire. I always take reviews with a pinch of salt but the amount of 'terrible' reviews is troubling.

Would appreciate some honest reviews from those who have recently stayed at the TL at Lowfield Heath please. Thanks.
