hello all, hope you had a good christmas!
i just got a new ipod nano using a £15 off code from here
trouble is, it doesn't seem to be connecting to itunes properly...when i first connected it it was fine and synched the songs onto the ipod..but there was a window that popped up where you could type in yopur name/ipod name but that disappeared, now the ipod doesn't connect to itunes when i connect it via the usb cable..
there is nothing under 'devices' to say my ipod is connected even though it is charging...:o
does anyone have any idea what i'm on about, and can offer advice? (it didn't come with instructions/installation cd and the online guide is gobbledegook  )
many thanks

if you have a windows pc i recommend trying winamp, it has ipod support built in to it and it handles transferring songs better than itunes
i used to use it when i had my old 3rd gen ipod

I had a similar problem with itunes not recognizing my ipod. I managed to get it working by doing the following:
1. Open the start menu and right click on My Computer, click on the manage button.
2. Left click the expand sign (+) on the Services and Applications, select services.
3. Double click ipod service option
4. Make sure your ipod is not connected and click the stop button
5. Connect your ipod, wait a few seconds, and click start.
6. Click OK to leave that window
7. Start itunes
This worked for me, although it may be a different problem. If it still doesn't work I'll try and find another approach.
