Fabulous Christmas

Just wanted to say this Christmas was wonderful. My DP got me fabulous presents and was pleased with his. My boys were so happy and littlest still believes so especially magical. My parents got us the family National Trust membership as requested so that's days out sorted through the year. Everyone loved their hampers and no-one thought I was a tight !!!! for doing home made gifts.
It was the first Christmas I've had at my house rather than the parents and I was worried that my Dad (a qualified chef) would steam in and take over but he just helped and advised and let me do things my way, whilst ensuring everything came together as it should. He seemed to enjoy cooking in a proper kitchen (theirs is tiny) and not having to do any of the prep or clearing up. Then after dinner the boys went upstairs and played with their new toys and DP and my Mum sat in the living room and put the world to rights while me and my dad stayed at the dining table getting pi**ed and having a good old chat.
I think I've finally reached a stage in my life where my Dad approves of me and I'm so happy!!
Just had to post as there seem to be so many people who had a miserable time because the presents weren't right or the turkey was dry and that really isn't what it's all about.

  • Loverly to hear you had a good time. OUr Christmas was loverly too, and my MIL and FIL came round Christmas Eve and saw how excited our younger children were, looking out the window to see if Santa was flying near our house. They stayed for Christmas Dinner, and saw us all opening our presents, and again, said how wonderful it was being part of the magic of Christmas that is so when you see it through the eyes of a child. (MIL AND FIL are 74 and 82 respectively, by the way)
    keep smiling,
