TERMS


The terms and conditions set out below relate to 4 competitions, each of which offer the chance to win:
(a) a pair of Singapore Airlines economy class, return flight tickets traveling from London Heathrow to any of the following destinations serviced by Singapore Airlines:
• Auckland (Auckland Airport)
• Bali (Ngurah Rai International Airport)
• Singapore (Singapore Changi Airport); and
• Sydney (Sydney Airport).
(b) four (4) nights accommodation in the destination city at a hotel chosen by Singapore Airlines and transfers from the destination airport to the hotel (“prize”).

Terms and Conditions

1. By entering any of these competitions, entrants will be deemed to have read, understood and accepted the terms and conditions set out below.
2. The competitions are open to UK residents aged 18 years and over.
3. Entry is limited to one entry per person per competition.
4. Entry is free but entrants should be aware that they may be subject to local call charges depending on their individual Internet access arrangements.
5. Any misrepresented or fraudulent entries by an entrant will be deemed invalid by Discovery.
6. Employees of Discovery Communications Europe Limited, its parent companies, subsidiaries and affiliates (“Discovery”), Singapore Airlines Limited, its parent companies, subsidiaries and affiliates (“Singapore Airlines”), and members of their families, their agents or any other person(s) connected with the competitions are not eligible to participate in these competitions.
7. Discovery reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to exclude entrants and withhold prizes for breach of any of these terms and conditions.

Competition Deadlines

(a) The 1st competition opens on 7 January 2011. The closing date and time for entries is midnight on 6 April 2011.
(b) The 2nd competition opens on 7 April 2011. The closing date and time for entries is midnight on 6 July 2011.
(c) The 3rd competition opens on 7 July 2011. The closing date and time for entries is midnight on 6 October 2011.
(d) The 4th competition opens on 7 October 2011. The closing date and time for entries is midnight on 6 January 2012.
8. Entrants may enter the competitions via the Discovery website currently located at https://www.yourdiscovery.com until approximately 7 March 2011, and thereafter entrants may enter the competitions via a new website, provisionally located at https://www.discoveryuk.com (the “Websites”).
9. Discovery will not be liable for any failure to receive entries. Discovery takes no responsibility for any entries that are lost, delayed, corrupted or otherwise invalid.
10. Entries will not be acknowledged or returned.
11. Winners will be selected at random from a draw to be held by Discovery within 7 days of each competition’s closing date.
12. Discovery will not enter into any correspondence relating to the selection of winners.
13. Winners may have to submit valid identification acceptable to Discovery before receiving their prize.
14. The winning prize shall only include return flights, 4 days hotel accommodation in the destination city and a transfer from the destination city’s airport to the hotel. For the avoidance of doubt winners shall be responsible for any transfers from the hotel to the destination city airport.
15. UK transfers to and from Heathrow Airport are the responsibility of the winners.
16. Each winner and their guest must travel on the same flights on the same day (outbound and inbound).
17. Flight restrictions apply and any flights and transfers won are subject to availability. For the avoidance of doubt Singapore Airlines will not be able to offer flights during the following periods:
(a) 1 July 2011 to 15 August 2011; and
(b) dates after 15 December 2012 (unless otherwise notified in writing).
18. A Winner’s destination hotel will typically have its own cancellation policy and if the winner decides to cancel, there may be a cancellation fee payable by the winner.
19. Any extensions to a winner’s stay in the destination city shall be entirely at the winner’s own expense.
20. Tickets are non-refundable, non-transferable and non-upgradable.
21. No cash alternatives will be offered for the prize.
22. Travel insurance is not included in the prize.
23. Visas, if required, are the responsibility of winners.
24. Spending money is the responsibility of the winners.
25. Winners must advise Singapore Airlines of any relevant dietary or medical conditions at the time of booking.
26. Singapore Airlines standard conditions of carriage apply.
27. Winners are responsible for ensuring that they can accept their prize in accordance with these terms and conditions. If a winner is unable to do so then Discovery reserves the right to withdraw the prize or select another winner from the entries received before the relevant competition’s closing date.
28. Winners will be notified by post and email within 28 days of the relevant closing date. All reasonable endeavours will be made to contact winners during this time. If a winner cannot be contacted or is not available, within 14 days of notification, Discovery reserves the right to hold another draw to select another winner from the entries received before the relevant closing date.
29. By entering any of the competitions, prize winners grant Discovery the free use of their names, photographs and the general location of their addresses for publicity and promotional purposes.
30. Personal data received by Discovery during the Competition(s) are subject to Discovery’s privacy policy to be found on the Website.
31. A list of winners’ names may be published on the Website.
32. Other than death or personal injury arising from the acts or omissions of Discovery or its employees, Discovery will not be liable for any loss or damage arising out of any winner’s enjoyment of their prize.
33. Discovery reserves the right to cancel, amend or replace any of these competitions, including changing the prize.
34. Discovery reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. Any amended terms will be effective when posted on the Website and entrants to the competitions are deemed to have accepted the relevant changes.
35. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, whose courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
