None of my local Currys, Argos, Tescos, etc don't have any in stock.

Is there some site that lets you know where there is availability?

Try calling them, takes longer but then it saves a trip.
What about Apple stores? Tried them?

Why do you need an iPad so urgently? If you're going to spend a massive amount of money, then why not go via a trusted online retailer and use a cashback site. It would save the full hit of £500-£700 depending on the model you go for. I'd also recommend trying them before you buy though; I've been 'given' an iPad2 at work for development purposes and it's not great considering I could get a really good desktop or laptop for the same cash. Happy to use it but I'd never buy one. Web surfing is great until you hit a site that uses flash (quite often you'll find!) and it's main use is by my OH playing the Smurf game!

Could you just order one online? It's probably difficult for 3rd party sites to check availability in your local area accurately.

    This site is really good:

although the availability part doesn't always seem to be accurate. Shows the above in stock at Argos though (and it is when you go on the Argos site).
