Hi,
I'm looking to transfer a hire purchase debt (never again!) to another lower rate loan or credit card, but there does not seem to be a means to do this, other than taking out a fresh new loan at a lower rate. Barclaycard won't do it and I was wondering if anyone else has been able to transfer to a credit card or has any suggestions?
Thanks
Jeff

You could do this if you were able to get a card that allows money transfers (super balance transfer) which allows you to put money from the new card to a bank account - which you then use to pay off the debt.
Only some cards allow this and the BT fees are a little higher, but if it might suit you then this is a list of cards that allow it and the length of theri 0% deals - http://www.stoozing.com/sbt.php
(its subject to you being able to get one of these cards with a high enough limit though - plus consider what you'll do at the end to the 0% deal if you haven't cleared the debt by then - will you be stuck with it at a high APR for example?).A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
