Gas Hob Fitting Cost?

Bought a ridiculously priced gas hob in Focus and now need to get it fitted. We need the old one removed and this one in it's place. The cut out is very slightly larger for the new one.

Can anyone please give me a ball-park cost on this so I know what sort of price to expect when getting quotes.

Thank you.

I had one replaced a couple of year back and it cost £60 including fitting an isolating valve to the gas pipe near the hob as there wasn't one there previously.

Make sure whoever fits it is gas safe registered - they should leave you with some paperwork to say it's been fitted safely and tested.

I paid £50 for mine to be fitted! I don't think it took more than an hour!

Depends what is needed but £50 sounds too cheap to me.

The hole was already there for the hob so it was just the pipework from the hob to the wall (about 60cm). An isolating valve was already there. I also live in the North East so prices may be a bit cheaper. They were gas safe registered and it looked to be a good job, had no problems anyway :-D
  • I would charge about £80
  • When I replaced my old gas hob I cut the hole in the worktop myself and a local gas fitter charged £30 to fit the replacement hob. Only took him 15mins.

We paid £70 this morning seems to be about the going rate we needed a few new fittings that had to be fetched so all in all quite pleased
