When I copy an album of mp3s on my wifes macbook, it pastes the mp3s separately - not the album(folder) with tracks inside. Seems the same with photos and other folders.
I know very little about macs, is this normal or can I fix it?

Are you viewing the files in a grid, check the view options, this is the simplest and most Windows like view. Then it is a case of doing as you describe above - 'right' click on the folder, click copy, then right click in a space inside the destination folder and click paste. Sounds like you're highlighting the wrong thing to copy.0

Seconded. It works exactly the same as Windows in this respect.0

On further investigation, it seems it only happens when dragging to an external device e.g. from itunes to walkman brings up 10 tracks, no album.0

Sounds like maybe the Walkman doesn't support folders which is a bit strange. Can always try from a Windows PC. You are copying from Finder and not iTunes aren't you?!0
