Hi,
Anyone got any idea why Tesco's don't award points on Baby Milk, my local 'express' manager has no idea and have got no response from CS?
Thanks
Mark

Not altogether sure but could be that some people get it subsidised via vouchers.... Boots is the same..no points on infant formula up to 6 months...you do get them on the follow on milk with boots though.Bit of a Florida Fan :j

Because it's illegal to offer promotions on infant formula milk.
I am suprised that the manager didn't know this.0 -
I think you will find its because its a non profit item i work for tesco and i cant get staff discount on baby milk, its the same for lottery, ciggys and prescriptions because they cant make a profit on it they wont give you points or discount on it .

No profit on the National Lottery? No profit on cigarettes? No profit on prescriptions? Surely wrong. Why else would Tesco sell them?0

Nope - it is definately illegal to offer promotions or incentives to buy infant baby milk.0 -
if they did make any profit it would be small and no way near as much as other items they sale, but when i asked that was what they told me

purely to draw people in
reason whs does the lottery and why my old store started to sell cigerettes, not worthy for profit but purely to bring people into the shopYes Your Dukeiness0 -

As the others have said, you don't get any points for buying first milks from anywhere (Boots, Tesco, Sainsburys etc). This is because the Government does not allow shops to 'promote' first milks. You do get points on milks which are for babies from 6 months+ (follow on milks)Busy working Mum of 3
