I wish to buy the property I have lived in for the past 35 years. Under the right to buy scheme. I have a good salary, however I have some adverse bad credit history. In the new year I plan on seeking out a mortgage through my bank (Nationwide).
I have never applied for a mortgage before, and at 40 years old, I am a late starter to the property market. Please can you advise will I be granted a mortgage through NW. I am looking at borrowing 25,000.
I just need to know which direction to pursue, without having too many knock backs.
I thank you in advance for any guidance you can give me.
Kindest regards

i would go to a whole-market mortgage broker, and talk to them - they will be able to advise on which lender may be best for you. If you have recent bad credit, this will increase the mortgage interest rate you will be offered.0

Clutton many thanks for your prompt response.
What is a whole-market mortgage broker? As i only wish to borrow 25k. Would a loan be a better option?
