Well that last payment of £1500 squirelled away brought my monthly payment down to £412.04 - god I love this snowball principle/effect... now just need to make the most of the next few contracts coming in to build up my reserves first and foremost, and then next aim is to get that below £400 p/month...

Wow - I can't believe I have been doing this for three years - time for a new start as I really haven'y been focusing on this.

So where are we in Hurdler-land?
I now have a full time rolling contract a writer/editor on a tennis site and would like to still dabble with the IT writing for a couple of reasons - one to keep the tax man away from my door with having multiple contracts, and just in case this tennis writing lark comes to a sudden end!

Let's look at some positives - since buying my house I have brought down my mortgage down from around £195K to around £86.5K in the three years I have been a part of this thread. I think that's a not bad effort seeing as I walked away from a couple of well-paying jobs to be as poor as a church mouse and have lived off the redundancy money for a good long while.

So - For the first time I am about to break even in the company so what I am going to do is this:
    • Pay back my expenses accrued in my company over the next few months - I want to be completely up to date with my finances by the time I get to the end of my next financial year (end April).
    • I need to keep 3 months min of company outgoings in the business account, and 3 months min of monthly outgoings from a personal perspective in a savings account as well as building up my reserves for things like car expenses etc, grocery fund, etc.
    • Where possible I will pay at least half if not a full amount of my mortgage every month, starting with this month - paying 2 extra months (yay!)
    • Such is the ironic nature of my brain, I tend to decide to economise when I have money coming in, and will be starting back at the gym and batch cooking!

Think that is enough for now... but going to be here a lot more as I need to nibble away at this now that things are a little more settled!

    Vernon is a little depleted!

    So... here we go!

    November Goals:
    • [STRIKE]Build 4 months personal outgoings[/STRIKE] - DONE (Last remnants of redundancy money)
    • After 6/11 Pay day + Expenses up to April 2013, ensure enough in Business Saver to cover VAT, Corp Tax and 3 months Business outgoings
    • Build T3sco Clubcard Plus account to £500. Supplemented with £75 per month.
    • Build Car Maintenance fund to £2000
    • Sell last of shares and put in N@tionwide Saver until I can roll it onto a separate Stocks and shaes ISa with the £10K already from proceeds
    • Try not to pay for anything related to the business personally for a month.

    I think that's enough for a month!
