My first TCB purchases (from 28th Dec '11) are now payable... so not bad I guess... I would think those are about right in terms of cashback sites (sometimes longer with QCo if I had to nag them about tracking that hadn't gone through)
ETA: Ohh it looks as though I can choose when to pay myself... perhaps I will get into the habit of doing it on the 6th of every month (or thereabouts)...
Edited again: What do other MFWs using TCB do with their cash back?- Mortgage @ March 2008: £194,965 ; Lightbulb Moment: July 2011: £164,926; End Date: March 2033

Evil Management Agent update:
I met the new managing agent/property manager who seems nice enough.
Looks like their set up will be less complex... so the GOOD news is that I should see more of the rent.
So that means it should cover the warranties (at the moment I am paying for that out of my own pocket)...
I'm sure they are much of a muchness... but anyway - we shall see.
I suspect you will have to put up with a lot of whining posts, as this is the last month before we finish with the old agents... and they are not being helpful, quelle surprise!)- Mortgage @ March 2008: £194,965 ; Lightbulb Moment: July 2011: £164,926; End Date: March 2033

Hope the new letting agents are lots better hurdler. We've had loads of trouble with our ex-landlord witholding our deposit. I wish the world was made up of good landlords (like you) and good tenants (like us) instead of the shysters on both sides who seem to be in the majority!
Good luck with your articles for the sports mag - don't waste too much time on your shiny new iPad!Mortgage (original/ current):193,000 (23/09/11)/ £102,500 (07/11/2019)

Feel a bit anxious 'cos I haven't heard back about the articles. So now of course, instead of revising all about media law, I am wondering if I could have written them better... sigh!
New iPad (and old one for that matter) has all my condensed notes for my law revision #CunningPlanToMakeItAllWorthWhile

Just heard back from Magazine guy, and I don't mind admitting I was feeling pretty anxious as I hadn't heard anything back and someone else had submitted their trial (for tennis, sigh) midday midweek and heard back.
Anyway... this is what I got:Hi Ros;
Thanks for sending over your trial pieces - really pleased with the quality, both in terms of your writing and the research you put in.
He's just asked what I can commit to so I sent back the original brief - so could be looking at around 2500-3000 words a week, with pay.
Not enough to live on, but sure enough to add to my portfolio, and more importantly totally independently of my course which all helps.
Wooty, McWoot. Now I don't care as much about having an exam on my birthday. (well I do - and I STILL can't get my head around ALLLLLL the varied defences for defamation, other than the obvious "say nowt nasty about anyone" one)!- Mortgage @ March 2008: £194,965 ; Lightbulb Moment: July 2011: £164,926; End Date: March 2033

:j Great news Hurdler, well done :jA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Hi Hurdler, that's such exciting news and I guess a significant step in the right direction of your new career, in terms of being paid to write :T
Good luck and hope all goes well, Tilly2004 £387k 29 years - MF March 2033:eek:
2011 £309k 10 years - MF March 2021.
Achieved Goal: 28/08/15 :j0 -
It is exactly that Tilly. Although we're probably talking between £40-£50 in a week for those words, considering I haven't got my NCTJ that's not bad going.
I sent a note to my accountant to say should I resurrect the limited company but he advised against it for now but if this helps me get a contract with the sports agency linked to the journo school, then that should definately be the trigger.
So the money is going to go into the rent account at the moment and get transferred to a savings account from there.- Mortgage @ March 2008: £194,965 ; Lightbulb Moment: July 2011: £164,926; End Date: March 2033
