Don't be talked into sending anything that you've listed on Gumtree, it's for face to face selling only. Buyer turns up with cash checks the item gives you cash & off they go.
I think that Gumtree must have more scammers per listing then anywhere else.0 -
6969annw I think you've just been saved a lot of grief by the good people on this thread.
I knew i could rely on the good people of MSE, I have never been stupid enough to be scammed before but i got an email offering me £50 more then i was asking for, my own fault i didnt ask where he was from and just said pay it by paypal. Next thing i new i got an apparant email from paypal, i always ALWAYS check the emails i get from paypal before opening them because i'm not stupid and i do get spam emails from people claiming to be paypal but it seemed genuine until i opened it and it said delivery address nigeria (DOH!)
Do i now just ignore his emails and report him to paypal or is there any other steps i need to take? My boyfriend will sort the computer out when he gets home as its his and passwords have all been changed.2012 - must pay off last CC and maybe overdraft then debt free woop!!
