Hiya, why not try browsing at www.allcraft.net, sinplicity.com or babyfreebies.co.uk...If in more need of information, spend sometime in google..Sealed Pot Challenge 2012 #1502:)

I had this same problem five or so years ago when my daughter had her Baby Born. I bought some generic baby dolls clothes from Toys 'R' Us which were a fraction of the price and then used those as a pattern - they were too long in the legs and sleeves, but it was fairly easy to lay them out, draw round them and use that as the pattern for other clothes. Also, my local library had a dolls book which was quite useful.
Failing that, there are various sites which offer clothes - this one has free knitting patterns for Baby Born http://www.geocities.com/remaynes_remnants/bborn_lacey_jumper.htm if you're a knitter, or this site sells patterns (you could just use it for ideas, I suppose) http://www.wollyonline.co.uk/pages/bd16.asp or you could get the freebie pattern from this site http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art37635.aspand then you could pay $3.49 (which is only about £1.80) to download her e-book of patterns.
If you're a sewer, you'll know you only need a basic trousers pattern and a top pattern and you can then make all kinds of different clothes by lengthening the top, changing the neckline etc. That's why you need that wolly site, for inspiration!

I used to buy my DDs doll newborn baby clothes from the charity shop - they fit fine, and you can pick up sleepsuits and dresses etc for pennies!!!!0

eBay can be handy for new born items, same with charity shops etc, try asking friends etc aswell, would have offered but my neice got all the newborn and tiny baby stuff from my 2 for her dolls. Can buy/borrow a few and use them for patterns. One day I might be more organised...........

Try to find some prem-baby knitted clothes patterns or look in the library. I knit quite a few dolly clothes for relatives children, and my own grandkids and I found most patterns at a boot fair or in the library. I wouldn't waste money paying £15 for a dolly's outfit .0

I would say the same as the other posters. It's a long time since my DDs had any dolls (grown up now) but I also got new born baby clothes from the charity shops for their dolls (I never bought them dolls but Grandma did). At this time of year there are also probably plenty in the sales too (and not at an eye watering £15). I don't know if Tesco's and Asda do baby clothes, but if they do I bet you could get something quite reasonable.Enjoying an MSE OS life0

why not try the likes of primark for their new born sizes, they should fit and are whole lot cheaper than toys r us dolls clothes.0

We used some of DD's out grown jumpers and things to make her doll clothes. She had several different sized dolls. The stitch quality is not desperately important as long as they are roomy and you remember that dolls cant bend their knees and elbows so openings must be big enough. My dad made my teddy some trousers once from his old security guard shirt and one leg was stitched by me(4 year old). I had them until about 10 years ago when they got a bit torn as my kids played with him (30 years later)0

I have to say that of all the toys my DD7 has had over the years she has probably had more play value from her baby born dolls ( now a family of 4 !) than anything else. However I agree that the price of the clothes is absurd, even when secondhand on ebay they still go for more than I'm willing to pay. I'm not a brilliant seamstress so I have bought a pack of early baby up to 3lb bodysuits at boots, basic range reduced to £2.50 for 5 . They are somewhat long in the body but Baby Born's nappy may fill that, otherwise I'm going to cut the bottom half off and hem them for T shirts. Then I'm going to make simple elasticated skirts to go over the top and possibly headbands as well. If you get the transfer paper for the computer, you can search images to make iron on transfers which would jazz up the dollies outfits too :-)Nothing in it, nothing in it but a ribbon round it .....0
