I'm looking for a laptop in the sales. I want to edit photos and videos (as well as play music of which I have around 13gbs) on the move as well as hook it up via the LAN at home. A friend suggested looking for one with a 100gb HDD, 1GB Memory, Wi-Fi, a dual core processor and possibly I might be better off with Windows Media Centre operating system. Does anyone have any thoughts/recomendations please. I don't want to spend anymore than I really have to but want want that's not going to be needing upgarding too fast.
Thanks,
Kido

Do you really want to edit videos? That would be the bit which requires more grunt.
You don't need Windows Media Centre - it's pretty poor and only relevant if you have a TV card.
What your friend suggested is a little OTT, but is about par for the course. Suggest a Dell myself, but that's partly because I quite like Dells.Says James, in my opinion, there's nothing in this world

Ok then maybe I'll just use my desktop to to edit videos.
Thanks for the advise.0
