in Credit cards
Just received my new A&L credit card this morning.
In the T&C's,it said "a 2% fee for balance transfers MAY apply"
Do i have to ring them and speak to an advisor to negotiate the fee?
I don't really want to do a SBT into my account only to find a charge of £200
Thanks in advance for any answers.

Yes ring up, you 'should' be able to avoid the fee as its your first balance transfer and I guess you could argue you signed up to the card because of the 0% deal.0

Also if its for a big transfer (or for a long duration) it might still be worth going for - just work out the virtual 'APR' with the fee.0

MBNA advised me that the only way you avoid a fee of 2% is is request the BT or SBT when you sign up for the credit card. You can only transfer 90% of your credit limit. I think it used to be 95% but I was definately told 90%. They are tightening their belts.0
