Paper gift for husband on our 1st anniversary?

It's been a while since I last posted a thread on here! :D

I'm looking for something to get for hubby for our first anniversary this October.

I wanted to go for a nice meal on the night of our anniversary, so he suprised me by booking a table at my fav Mexican restaurant...in Lanzarote! So, his paper gift to me will be my flight ticket.

I don't want to get him a photobook, or a framed photo as we already have too many of those, but I'm at a loss of what else comes under 'paper'.

Do any of you ladies (or gents!) have any ideas?

is there any type of excursion or experience he would like to do whilst on holiday...scuba dive...helicopter flight...mountain biking...that type of thing that you could perhaps make a paper ticket for and surprise him whilst away?

We're only there for 3 nights/4 days, minus the kids (they're staying at home with Grandad), so we've more or less already planned our days and money is tight, so I wouldn't be able to afford anything like that for him even though we'd both love a helicoper flight over the island!

Did you do the letter from his favourite football club as a wedding gift as lots on here have done....if not what about trying to get a "congratulations for putting up with me for a year " type letter from his favourite club?

or how about a mexican cook book and a few bits and pieces so he could have a go at recreating your favourite food at home

I'm trying to think of gifts as well, can't believe it's nearly a year!

I think I'm going to make a scrapbook of the mementos I've saved from things we've done together over the year (flight tickets, train tickets, little notes etc.) and then it's kind of like a forever gift because we can keep adding to it :)

    - business cards (if appropriate)
    - gift voucher
    - headed paper
    - love letter/poem which you've written especially for him?
    - book
    - "promise" vouchers (hand made: "I promise to give one foot massage/back rub/ ... etc.," which he can "redeem" when he chooses)
    - paintings/drawings from the children

PS: Congrats on your 1st anniversary in October :)

Can I pinch this idea for September please?!

My DH keeps asking for divorce papers for our 1st anniversary....I just tell him that I don't love him that much to give him what he wants!!

We will be on our honeymoon then, so will need to have a present that is easy to pack ;)
