Joint current account - best options please

Hi there - advice please.

Looking to set up a joint current account with my partner. This will be fed (possibly £150 in total) from our own separate current acounts and will be used for day to day spending (rather than saving).

Hence we'll both require a cash card and it must be unlimited withdrawals but some interest would be nice too.

Any good offers on at the moment please from decent customer friendly institutions?

Cheers

Current accounts - you're unlikely to find anything paying interest of note but if its for general spending a savings account might tick the boxes.

If you want a CASH (ATM) card lots of savings accounts offer this (including many e-saver products) have a look at the best buys part of the savings section in the top bar for ideas.

If you want a DEBIT card so you can spend directly from the account the only 2 savings accounts I know of that offer this are Nat West's First Reserve account and the Bank of Baroda UK's savings account (which also offers a cheque book should you need it).
  • You're unlikely to find an interest bearing current account if you're only paying in £150/month.

Forget about the interest, it wouldn't even be pennies on £150/month, and instead focus on the other requirements you may have e.g. good branch network, efficient internet banking system etc.
Before you ask, yes, I work for a bank, but no, I didn't get a bonus!
