Painting over lacquered wood

Hello
I have a similar query to another recent post, but I think it's different enough not to hijack that thread.
I recently bought some lacquered pine furniture from Ikea (!) which I would like to paint with satinwood. I've given it a quick rub with smooth sandpaper and then a wipe down with a damp cloth. Do I need to do any extra or can I now paint it as it is?
Thanks

i personally would give it a coat of bin primer http://zinsseruk.com/shop/Product.aspx?cId=130&pgId=354
then a couple of coats of satinwood0 -
Another vote for Zinseer I did my vanished ceiling with it, 2 coats and 2 coats of Dulux matt for ceilings, the ceiling was heavily vanished, 3 years on and still fine. Decorators use this stuff a lot, not cheap but works0
