where do I stand PPI claim?

Back in 2007 i took out a loan with lloyds for £5000 which included PPI. Two months after this, I lost my job. This was a new job and I was only with the company for a month. I contacted Lloyds about the PPI and they declined my claim due to me losing my job during my probationary period. At that point I wasnt happy as this was not explained when I bought the policy but left it there as I had other things to concentrate on( getting a new job)
When the PPI misselling issue was raised a few months back I decided to put an official complaint in. Lloyds have logged the complaint and have sent me a response saying the will come back to me within 3 months.
During the period I was out of work I continued to pay back the loan . However the knock on effect left me with a number of other debts(credit cards etc that I had no choice but to use as I had no income). Within a year I had decided to take out another loan(£10000) with lloyds tsb to consilidate the debt I had got myself into. I believe the PPI insurance not paying out had a direct impact on this. Do I stand anywhere with this? I not getting my hopes up with the existing complaint, however do the circumstances I encoutered after my claim was rejected add current weight to my existing complaint?
Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris,
I'd be interested to hear how this turns out for you.
The exact same situation happened to me in 2007 with a loan from HSBC.
I was made redundant within a 90 day period of taking the loan out and they said I couldn't claim. I fell into debt due to this.
I made a complaint regarding the PPI and my bank charges. They then started to say I had been misinformed and could have claimed back then. Grrrrr! I got all my bank charges back but they refused on the PPI.
I cancelled the PPI mid-way through the loan term, I want to claim for the remaining £500 I paid for useless insurance, useless service and mis-information at point of sale. I hope you get a good result on this as it will give me hope for my claim.
