iphone auto sync with laptop

Hi,

My boss has given me a task to find an app that he can have on his iphone 4 that when he is in the vicinity of his laptop it will automatically sync to his iphone and backup all his contacts via bluetooth!

Now, I don't even have a smart phone let alone a iphone 4, so can anyone advise if this is possible. Apparently his son has said his does it!

Any help is greatly appreciated.

:)

    Does the laptop have Windows?

    If so which version?

    This is for MAC

Although, asking his son might be a good move

I think it's Windows 7 he's on, got a new laptop but not in the office. Asking his son would be the sensible move but apparently no good phoning him while he's at work!

Autosync will only work on Leopard or Tiger, not Snow Leopard, and presumably not Lion when it comes out.

The new iOS5 will allow syncing accross the network as long as the iPhone is plugged into a power supply. I believe that Apple tried to block apps designed to do this if possible as they had the patent for the iOS5 technology for a while. so your boss could go for one of the apps mentioned above, or wait for iOS5 to do it automatically. Looking at Autosync you still have to sit at your comp and click it to start? so why not just plug into itunes?

    Hi,

You lost me at Leopard?? It's for my boss, he likes to be able to say he can do it, though no advantage over plugging in the cable as you said. Also, surely if bluetooth is running on his phone all the time, his battery life would be shot!

Might print your message out for him! That'll confuse him for days.

    Thanks
