Current Market Value - Is There A Website?

Hi - suggest you go to https://www.autotrader.co.uk and put in details of your car to compare it with similar ones for sale. You can taylor it for mileage year specification/trim level distance from your town etc to arrive at a private sale figure for your car.0

The Autotrader idea will give guide to what people are asking, for their cars,
http://www.whatcar.com has a 'valuations' page - free - which will generate a value, in line with market guides. Possibly of help if you were looking to trade in.
also they have 'target prices' of NEW cars, to save some haggle time!
Both are sometimes accurate - sometimes way out!!

My hubby goes on https://www.parkers.co.uk its a great site for reviews, pricing etc0

Whatcar is pretty good for average mileage cars - but way out for high and low mileage cars.
Parkers is very good, as is the free valuation on the Vauxhall website.
Or try http://www.honestjohn.co.uk and ask in the forum for a valuation (I'd answer here but there are more people who can disagree with me if I'm inaccurate over there).
Finally, paricularly if you're looking for an insurance valuation because your car has just been written off, see how much is being charged by sellers on http://www.autotrader.co.ukDebt at highest: September 2003 - £26,350
Debt now: £14,100
Debt free day: October 2008 :beer:0 -
I never trust these guides,as others have said they are sometimes way out.
There are so many variables to take into account, like are you selling and how quick do you want a sale? Are you trading in? if so how much money have you got to spend.Even when you sell or trade can have an affect on value.
If i was going for a private sale i would compare as many cars, like for like, in my area to arrive at a price. If i was trading in i would visit several places and compare prices,Dont forget it does not matter what they give you in p/ex,its how much money you have to put to, to buy the car thats important. In other words its no good getting a good p/ex if the car you are buying is over priced. There are two sides to every story.

Just as an exercise I just went to the Parkers site and Whatcar.com and as St Janet says they are so inconsistent. There was a variation on a 2005 Hatchback by nearly £2000. How unreliable is that. Dealers say we want more for our cars than their true value without telling you that they will sell your car at it's top franchised dealer price if they possibly can. Is there such a thing as an honest dealer
Pardon me for being sceptical;)

Hi
Thanks for the replies, I was asking because my insurance company said they will look at my cars current market value to decide on how much they will pay me out if it's too expensive to repair. If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in0 -
If you go to the Vauxhall site, there is a drop down under one of the sections (value my car), which gives you a free part exchange price from Glasses Guide (the guide the motor industry use). You will get a lot more respect from dealers if you say you saw it was worth ££££ from the Glasses Guide rather than saying parkers etc.0

Hi
I've had a look on Vauxhall/Lookers site but can't find the value my car bit, this would be a good one to look at as the insurance have given my car to Lookers to estimate the repairs. If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in0 -
If you go to https://www.Vauxhall.co.uk, it's under Owners, Value your Car0
