PPI Claim

Phoned a local company many months ago who deals with these and have been told to get my agreement details (didn't keep them after I'd paid them off).
I've contacted a few companies so far, only Lloyds have came back to me with the details, being years old couldn't remember if I had PPI, which I hadn't.
However I had called Northern Rock and Halifax (Intelligent Finance) about a couple of loans I previously had and have had no resposne. Have sent off a letter a couple of weeks ago.
I'm wondering the best way to go to get these guys to get back to me, I was thinking of phoning again and maybe sending off a recorded delivery copy letter.
Anyone had similar problems with these companies? Am I taking the right action? I don't want to start paying legal fees, due to not knowing my agreement details anyway.

Did you send the £10 with each request? The £1 CCA method wont work with loans that have been repaid. So, you need the £10 subject access request method. Although that may not work either if the lender has destroyed the paperwork (which they are allowed to do and seem to be quick to do on repaid loans).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

If this is a claims company you need to dispense with these asap.
Once you have the agreements you can write to each bank with a mis sell claim (if you have one).
Why pay a % of your win, when at the end of the day you will have done all the leg work, lets face it
The claims co will only do what you can do they do not get you anymore money or faster.0 -

There was no mention of paying anything when I've spoke with the last few companies, one which did send me the information I was looking for.
Amersall - I wouldn't know what to look for tbh.

You got lucky with the one that sent you the data. However, if you want access to data, you send a subject access request and £10. Must have got lucky again then, as I've just had (very spookily seeing as I mentioned it) the Northern Rock copy agreement.

You are lucky. Most will write back and ask for the money.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Just waiting on Abbey (now Santander) to come back to me, just sent out a letter today.
Once that's through I can see about chasing them up.
Looking what info I got, only Northern Rock was covered by Loan Protect (£40 per month), I'll need to check with Abbey once I get the info back.

I know I'll get caned for this, but contacted a local company to look into this, I know they take a large fee for it (believe it's around 30%), but what the heck.
Heard back about a couple of things, although still awaiting some other info on others.
Hopefully get good news, but we'll wait and see.

Small amount, but have got £148 from Capital One, although I will be due a charge I'll be up £90.
I know it's a fair whack to lose, but I'm happy with that, as it's been very easy to do, don't get me wrong someone may/will point out that all I had to do was this and that, and that would have been the same outcome, however I'm not overly fussed.
Still to see feedback on a few other accounts, so maybe some more good news.

Northern Rock, which I felt there would be something back has came in at just under £600, I know what some said I could do myself and save even more money, granted yes another £215 for their services against that amount does seem much, but I feel I've done really nothing (maybe they almost have I don't know but they are more in the know than me about these things).
So so far that'll be just over £450 so far we're better off.
There's still a few more to go, but even if nothing more than delighted with that.
