Morrisons Offers

Options
Hi I have just about had enough with my local Morrisons store in Harwich. They always seem to deliberately miss lead customers by putting special offer signs next to simalar sounding full price products and the special offer product not even on the shelf. They also sell discounted products at full price you really have to be on the ball with this store. Today I brought a 30inch Tefel frying pan which was £16 reduced to £12 however when it went though the checkout it came up at full price, This happens too often to be a genuine mistake as I am always going to customer services with problems like this. What is the best place to complain about this store Trading Standards?

The OP is probably a bloke.
The pan is only 10", but they are telling everyone it's 30".

Tesco are worse. The few times i've been in they have a big red sign next to an item with a low price on it. Its only when you get up close and read the tiny tiny tiny tag next to it (or in some cases get it to the check out as theres no tag near it) you realise the big huge eye catching sign was in fact how much is discounted from it and its really not the bargain they make it out to be.

Do not go shopping in a daze. They employ specialists in order to design store layouts/promotions etc to get us to part with our cash. Special offers are not always the best value. Do not assume, always check.

Our local stores used to have bread and milk right next to the entrance/exit......after a specialist consultation they moved them way way way to the back of the store (couldnt get any further away from the entrance tbh). Their plan? So people popping in for a loaf and pint of milk had to pass the hundreds of special offers (also carefully placed at the end of aisles to catch your attention as not everyone goes up and down every single aisle).

I have to continually check my receipt at Morrison's because the price on the shelves states one thing and at the checkout it is another. Sainbury's did that the other day. Beans were 28p, cheaper than the value brand so I bought them. Only when I checked my receipt did I find they were 52p each! I'm not going crazy, i went back there and the price was 28p on the shelf.

Everyone makes mistakes, but that is a little annoying.

At least you get a reciept. The co-op specifically doesn't hand them out unless requested (saving the world threw using less paper) so quite oftem unless you remember to ask for one you can't check the mistakes.

The problem I find with Morrisons is, if they run out of an item they put anything in its place to keep the shelves looking full but they don't change or remove the shelf label. So in effect their prices are wrong.

When I worked in retail (a large well known home & garden store) it was frowned upon if the 'layout' was not adhered to, eg a single faced product should not be double faced if it's neighbour on the shelf was out of stock.

I have complained to Morrisons staff but they just say "we're told to fill the gaps, so the shelves look full". So now if I see an item on the shelf with the wrong label I will remove the label to help un-suspecting customers.
