Anyone got any advice re: above.
In the past First Choice have had a lot of complaints to Watchdog about people catching illness's such as salmonella, cryptosporidium and campylobacter. From reports it seems folks where still getting ill last year.
One person said she was fine though and she's not surprised some folks got ill as lots of folks did not wash their hands, put covers back on food or even throw dirty nappies in the bin.
It's a bit early in the holiday season but I wondering if they still have a problem, would it be wise for me to book this resort for my family.
Any advice gratefully received.
Thanks

We stayed there in April (Easter hols) - cleanest place ever. No issues not even a head ache. but it is miles from anywhere and boring for adults. If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0

Thanks Helen.
We're going with our 12 year old & 8 year old so thinking for us it being quiet won't be a problem as we'll most likely be sitting on our balcony by 10pm/11pm with a bottle of wine while the kids are in bed.
I've put another post on the main thread as I'm thinking that's where I should have put this in the first place0 -
oh no it's busy for children! we met shrek, alex the lion and some bloke in a suit who we didn't recognise. There was also a lot of other games for them AND an adults only bar AND amazing food - it was so incredibly clean and massively over staffed - you will love it.If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0

OH is now saying he doesn't want to go AI as he doesn't like the idea of eating from a buffet table all the time so back to the drawing board looking for a SC apartment.
He's also convinced we'll all end up in some hospital with some sort of stomach bug.
Thanks for replying - liked the look of the HV too.0 -
Im with OH.
Food in Turkey is too good to be stuck at a hotel buffet. You can easily eat out - 4 courses + a drink or 2 for a tenner a head. Young children probably cheaper
We would normally hit 7 different restaurants in 7 days. I couldn't face a buffet every night0 -
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, my parents took my daughter her in 2006, she had salmonella poisoning, I've never seen a child so ill, she lost a stone and a half (she was a skinny 7 year old anyway, so it was very scarey) she still suffers with her bowels now.
First choice weren't in the least bit interested and we have only just last week received a reasonable settlement amount from them before the court date next week.
We were one of over 90 people taking them to court for various illness from the summer of 2006. The solicitors we used have groups of people doing the same for every summer since

see here for some details, under its old name.
The feeling is that the resort looks fab, and the cleaning staff try their best. However the resort is built on swamp land, there are a lot of flies, teamed with the fact that the food cooking/preparation/standing procedures are not satisfactory.
Some of the illness in our group I forget the name, but it is contracted from either swimming with cattle or comsuming their faeces, very nasty bugs for very small children.
Just felt I should let people know.0 -
Thanks, decided to give it a miss as risk of illness teamed with the fact it's in the middle of now where has put us off.0
