It's very much an 'each to their own' issue.
It's not something I did - or would do. It's not something that any of my extended family have done. And, between us, we have lost grandparents, parents, siblings and children - so it's not down to the relationship between the bride/groom and the deceased.
Maybe because of that, the idea makes me uncomfortable.
If it's the right thing for other people, though, then they should go for it.
(Although they should be prepared for guests like me to have a bit of a weep every time they see the table!)
