I'm definatly going to give this routine a try, just want to get the application correct & understood before I start.
Well I'm using the Waitrose own brand bottled lemon juice which costs about 80p!
I use cotton pads and just literally apply it in the same way as a toner. A few times a week I apply it like a peel (on top of nightly like a toner) where I apply it using firm pressure with a lemon-juice soaked cotton pad, then let it dry and repeat the same thing so I'm layering it a few times. It stings a bit though! Hopefully that's all clear but let me know if notNever argue with an idiot; they'll bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.0 -
I use fresh lemon juice. And yes you are right about the red marks. I just got my acne gone with some red marks left behind. I have applied the lemon juice twice yesterday and this morning I look into the mirror and find it a little bit fade :j
Some people said it tooks a quite long time to see the clean and clear face but I think I'll give it a shot. I really thank you to come up with this thread. I really do :T
Yay! I'm so pleased you're seeing results alreadyPlease keep me updated on how you get on. I find the most significant results are in the first few days, then it gets a little slower as your skin adjusts to it, but other than a little dryness I can report nothing negative, so I'm really happy I tried it

Hey girls, I've not tried lemon juice yet but I tried milk (which contains lactic acid) - it didn't have a strong effect but lemon juice must be stronger.
I tried few chemical peels (Avene, and something from a beauty salon), which probably work in the same way as lemon juice - the acid dissolves the dead skin, dry patches, and helps to clear blemishes faster. The results were ok but these peels were hard to use - you had to do it in the autumn or winter and use a strong SPF.
I'm not sure how lemon juice works, but you may need to be cautious - if the lemon juice works the same as chemical peel, it will remove the very top layer of your skin, greatly diminishing the natural UV barrier. In the long run, you may give yourself sun spots. Therefore it's best not to use it in the summer, and use a good SPF on top, even during winter (as OP does).0 -
I'd love to share my experience as well..
I used so many different scar reducing creams but none incredibly worked for me. Recently I heard about this product inviCible scars. I bought it too hoping that it might work out for me and yes it really did !! my scars reduced within 2 weeks.. I’m using it more often now .. One more thing .. since I was appying it on my entire face , I also found out that it has vanished the dark spots that I had for years.i like this product.. It is a hypoallergenic acne scar treatment. Since it does not contain common skin irritants like preservatives and fragrances, it is far less likely to cause a break-out than most other acne scar care products do. Therefore, no side-effects and tonnes of benefits... This product even rejuvenised my skin since it contains VITAMIN C which is really beneficial for the skin .I use it as a moisturizer now. .It actually works.. I'm amazed0 -
Whatever you do keep it simple. Less is more when it comes to skin care. Which also means less money
All I use to treat my acne is this purely natural acne cleanser

Yep - glad to hear how good it's been for you. I think in part because lemon juice restores the acid mantle of the skin. I have a small bottle of lemon juice mixed with sesame oil and a pinch of vitamin C powder (to stop it going off) which I keep in the fridge and use as a night moisturiser - needs to be shaken. Sometimes I oil my face lightly then rub neat lemon juice on and just work it in gently with the pads of my fingers and it gradually takes off dead surface cells. Lovely stuff. And so cheap. And free of suspect chemicals. I once had a little book called simply 'The Lemon Book' which I would have sent you, but I must have given it away to a charity shop as I can't find it. The squeezed out skins are great for pushing your fingernails in if they're stained from gardening, etc. And then you can chuck them wherever there are ants as they hate the smell!0

You can also mix lemon juice with some sugar for a cheap exfoliator. I get dry patches of skin and this works wonders.0

Lemon juice is really beneficial for our skin as found by many researchers. Since i have got a dry skin i normally mix a banana with lemon juice and then apply this mixture on my face. After 15 minutes i wash it off. Believe me it works wonders as well as makes your skin look good.0
