Slightly controversial reaction, but don't you find that quite pleasing that it's so bad?! As if it were me, I'd be thrilled that I could see such drastic changes taking place :D You are sooo brave; did you order it in from the states? I'm fascinated to know how you feel after the peeling has finished, most people are absolutely thrilled so it'll be interesting to hear what your thoughts are :) And PLEASE put the pics up and PM me with the info!!!!

My friend who is monitoring me everyday feels the same as you, she is overjoyed I look so bad:rotfl:, I did have to order from the states and I have recently bought other products from the US it was hassle and expensive for P&P and I did loads of research re sites and the difference in english and american names for products, I am seriously thinking of setting up a UK site to fill the gap, I'm now shedding like a snake:o years of sun damage just peeling away:T
Thank you for this site Martin
The time for change has come
    Good luck for the future

Man that just really makes me want to try it again!!! That wouldn't be a bad idea for setting up a shop; is it that make-up artist's choice or similar? I understand that's the one a lot of Brits use to import TCA. I tend to order mineral make-up from the states from Everyday Minerals as their finish and colour choices are much better than I can find here. Looking forward to having a peek at your photos :D

I'd say you can do it every day, I think the key is to just check out your skin every morning to see how it's coping and if it starts looking a bit dry then either stop for a day or two or use a moisturising mask in the evening (I've used the sachet that comes with the Sanctuary brightening facial) just to keep skin from getting too dry looking. If you have oily skin then you're in an even better position as it's not so drying that you'll feel like you've drained your skin of moisture, in the same way as a peel feels it kind of slowly dries so you have plenty of time to see what's coming! It's really, really great though; just seen my dad for the first time in two weeks who commented on my skin straight away. It's worth mentioning that a month ago I went from blonde to bright red and he didn't notice that....

Yesterday I was searching in the internet and it said better to apply on overnight, and I tried. Emmm... after a few minutes it feels kind of sticky on my face, is that normal? Sorry but never done this before so I'm just wondering if it is normal:o Because many said it feels a little bit stung but no one mentioned that sticky feeling.
And about the red scars, what I'm trying to say is the red acne scars. You know after the acne went away there are some red scars on my face. And I've had it for years.

Are you using fresh lemon juice or bottled? I know what you mean, it does feel kind of sticky, but I just apply my moisturiser over it and wake up to smooth skin :)

With regards to the red marks, that's exactly what I'm battling with and one thing worth mentioning is that a couple of them got darker (went a kind of purple colour) for a couple of days before drastically fading. THis didn't happen to all of them, just a couple on my cheeks. The biggest and quickest improvement is on my chin, where I could large groups of red marks which looked really horrid and were a nightmare to cover. They're not completely gone but they're soooo much lighter; I'm just annoyed with myself for spending huge amounts on expensive treatments and not trying this sooner!

Thanks for posting the lemon juice thing, I'll give it a try. I've got an acne scar on my chin and a bit of sun-discolouration on my forehead from forgetting the SPF55 last week.

I'd love to have a facial peel done (isn't it supposed to be really good for wrinkles as well?) but wouldn't dare try it at home!
Public appearances now involve clothing. Sorry, it's part of my bail conditions.

There are a few UK based suppliers of at home peels where they have some really gentle ones you could start off with (like Malic or Lactic acid) and you could just test it out on a small patch to see how it feels before slathering it all over :) Plus they're less than a tenner so if you chicken out then you haven't lost loads! I had a peel a while ago as part of a promotion and I went in a bit too cocky and requested they used their highest strength (which was 50% although I've had a 70% before!) glycolic acid. I haven't had a peel in a while so my skin wasn't thrilled about it and consequently I ended up with a small patch of hyperpigmentation - I wasn't too bothered about it as it wasn't that obvious, but within days of using the lemon juice it completely went, so that was handy :D

Also meant to add that there are quite a few different types of peels for different things, but glycolic is apparently the best for wrinkles. You can start on a really low percentage, however, if you're really unsure then I'd suggest trying something like a lactic acid peel.

  • What do you use to apply the lemon juice? I think I might get a bottle of Jif lemon juice as opposed to using real lemons. Got less chance of the juice going off, or needing to buy a million lemons :p

I'm definatly going to give this routine a try, just want to get the application correct & understood before I start.

I use fresh lemon juice. And yes you are right about the red marks. I just got my acne gone with some red marks left behind. I have applied the lemon juice twice yesterday and this morning I look into the mirror and find it a little bit fade :j
Some people said it tooks a quite long time to see the clean and clear face but I think I'll give it a shot. I really thank you to come up with this thread. I really do :T
