Hi Im wondering if anyone can help me,
I sold an item and posted it out and as always got a reciept as proof of posting,
I recieved feedback saying thanks etc so like always I threw the receipt out as I normally do as receiving feedback is normally my proof they have received it.
Now over a month later I have had the payment froze in paypal as the buyer is now saying they havnt received it and they wrote feedback for the wrong simialr item,
as i have no proof of postage anymore do i have to refund her.
Just seems I would have a house full of reciepts if i always kept them forever.
Thanks in advance!!

If it is a pure claim for INR then the receipt of postage wouldn't have helped at all, either way you will have to refund.
However, the lack of receipt means you cannot now claim your loss from Royal Mail.
It doesn't matetr how full your house is, receipts must be kept for 180 days minimum. Business sellers have ti even worse, 6 years in case on an HMRC audit. I must have half a ton of the darn things here.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Even if you did have the receipt, if it wasn't sent via recorded means you would still have to give a refund to the buyer (and claim the money back from the Royal Mail).0

Well suppose I best refund then, Am a bit annoyed that she left feedback tho, I can understand human error but her error is now costing me!:beer:2010 wins...:T

No, your error in binning the postal receipt is what's costing you! - Read Soolins post again.
