Just looking for confirmation if im doing the right thing.
I ordered a Bosch washer-dryer on Saturday 2nd July morning from Currys website using my Mastercard.
It was delivered early on Monday 4th July morning (last week)
It wasnt unpacked etc by ourselves until the Tuesday evening due to being at work both days.
On unpacking I noticed that very slightly the front fascia of the washer dryer was slightly loose on one side. I didn't think it would be a major issue so installed machine.
Have used it quite a few times in past 5/6 days.
This loose side has now become quite loose due to the vibrating of the machine, so much it is now audibly and visually vibrating.
Phoned Currys this morn to request a replacement. Their reponse was I was to phone the manufacturer who would authorise a replacement/repair.
I began to argue that as it was only a few days then surely it would be just a straight replacement from them. Insisted it wasnt.
Bosch engineer is now booked to visit in a week's time (earliest i could get) to see whether to authorise a replacement machine or repair.
If i get an authorised replacement then Currys said they would swap it.
I thought after such a short time it would just be a straight replacement from Currys?
Any thoughts are appreciated.

It's 21 days to get a refund or replacement. Bosch are slightly awkward in that they insist on sending an engineer to confirm faults before authorising a replacement.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Not awkward at all, they and, in particular, the retailer and entitled to confirm the fault before providing a suitable remedy.0

Its sorta a grey area as legally the company can take products away and inspect them (if it falls within the resonable timeframe for consumers to inspect and return if faulty for a refund or replacement). Maplins does this to great effect in when you return just about anything, even if purchased on the same day and its faulty, they'll send it back to HQ for inspection to ensure its faulty.
Annoying but not illegal, and if Esqui's is right, within 21 days you can still get a full refund or exchange but Bosch wants to inspect it first before Currys will authorise a replacement or refund.
As it stands, it only vibrates you can still use it. I'd suggest when Currys/KnowHow deliver the replacement one ask them (or infact ask over the phone) for them to remove the packaging and take it away with them.0 -
