I think it looks pretty good!

I'd agree that losing the rug would neutralise the living room, it is very bright.

I'd even lose the picture of the yard - or have it taken again but with the neighbours bin out of the picture.

    Two minor points though!!

    I think it looks fine!
Nice and tidy so you can see room shape/size. Decluttered too!
I would get a mirror for above the fireplace (you can take it with you or borrow someones LOL!)

How about hiding the bins out of site, Is that a backyard? It isnt mentioned in the description.
Adding some pots and hanging baskets to the front and back yard, maybe small bistro table and chairs (AGAIN you can take these with you) - make it look like the outside space can be used for tea outside or enjoying a summers day.

Pictures 6,8 and 10 look great. Bathroom and kitchen are nice.

Picture 7 is hideous. Move the bins! Get some nice pot plants in.

Stick some books on the bookshelf in number 5, and move the keyboard.

Rest of the house - take a trip to Ikea and buy a load of cushions, rugs and pot plants. Take away the dark bathroom curtain. Get rid of the cloth wardrobes in picture 4. Get rid of the net curtains.

Basically, it's just a bit stark and not homely enough. While it's true that a savvy and experienced buyer would look past furnishings, the vast majority of buyers will be influenced by the overall "feel" of a place and this is heavily influenced by furnishings.

Oh, and get some brighter bulbs and more lamps.

Oh, and sorry to threadjack but what are your kitchen worktops? I've been looking for something just like that :o

Thanks, I'll take the rug up and see if it makes a difference.

Unfortunately the dual showercurtains in the bathroom are a necessity. My dad installed a shower for me, before we realised that all the water would collect on the windowsil. 'Doh.

It is a shared yard, and little more than a space to put the bins. I like to refer to it as 'low maintenance' :D

Could you go halves with your neighbours on plants/ tubs or put some near your door so it looks loved

Sorry KateLiana, the place was refurbished before I bought it.

The place doesn't look very homely because I removed a fair amount of furniture (dining table etc) in the decluttering process... I'm not keen to buy any more furniture because I'm moving into my boyfriends flat. I'll be dumping all the current furniture when I go.

you dont need furniture to make it look homely and loved!

Bowl of fresh fruit, cushions and throw, lamps, photo frame/mirror, fresh flowers, fluffy towels, candles things you`d see in a home someone emjoyed being in everyday.

If the home looks loved then you visualise your love for it too.

I think your lounge may come across as dark as it' too much red and you have that smaller window backing onto the yard. I'd put a big mirror on the wall above the sofa to reflect the light, some lamps and a couple of side lamps in the bedroom
I know you don't want to spend any more money on the flat, but buyers are buying a lifestyle so make the place look very comfortable so they get the idea on how they would live their life there. A lot of them can't see the potential (unless it's a dump and dirt cheap).

It looks very nice generally, but I agree with taking the throw off the bed, maybe a patterned duvet would look nicer. Hide the bins and have the outside photo retaken, maybe borrow some pots from friends too?
