Warning before booking with eBookers

I recently booked a short break to Berlin with eBookers, thinking booking a package (flight and hotel) would give me more protection if anything went wrong than booking independently. I chose to incorporate EasyJet flights into the booking because a) they fly from my nearest airport and b) the flight times mean we will get longer in Berlin than we would with other operators. It now transpires that all eBookers did was hand the flight part of my booking straight to EasyJet and if we have any issues with flights, we're on our own. However, if we'd booked, say, BA flights, eBookers would assume full responsibility for both parts of our holiday. Just to add insult to injury, I could have got the whole thing cheaper by booking each element separately myself! All eBookers has done is made commission from passing my booking request to EasyJet. This stinks and I urge anyone contemplating making a booking with eBookers to think twice before doing so!

Did you read the booking terms and conditions before you booked. They have a section about packages that include 'low cost' flights that you can read before you choose to book.

I have not used ebookers myself and would probably have opted to book separately if it was cheaper especially as flight+hotel is not regarded as a 'package holiday' and does not get the same protection
