Moving a boiler?

My elderly father has just had a new combi boiler installed. I saw it for the first time today and have an issue with it's placement. It looks bigger than the old one and hangs much lower on the wall. I assume this is because the outlet pipe has been positioned in the same place as the old one, which was a very different design.
So, the kitchen (which is tiny) has had a third of it's space made unusable because of the size and position of this boiler. Hence my question - is it moveable? Or do we now have to remodel the kitchen around it!?!
Thanks!

We moved our boiler down into the basement from kitchen as it was unsightly but could have moved it into downstairs loo, or into loft too.0

Unfortunately there really isn't anywhere else for my dad's boiler to go, because of the position of the outside wall. If the house were to be renovated then it would be a different matter, but as it is the boiler would have been better place nearer the corner of the kitchen and further toward the ceiling which is only a matter of, say, half a foot in each direction.
We can't even fit the microwave underneath it. The work surface is now uneven and I'm not pleased with some of the finishing. I just wish I could have been there to oversee it0 -
You could possibly get it moved without much effort if only thinking half a foot, why don't you ask a local guy to come and quote to see if it's worth the cost. It does surprise me that tradesman cant seem to work out these little things themselves :-)0

natmid, I think the installers just did what was easiest and gave no thought to practicalities! For the money my dad paid out you think they could have put it a better position!0

What make is it? I wouldn't mind betting they could have fitted a lot smaller one as well.0

It's a Vaillant, but I couldn't tell you the model number.... four bed house but smallish rooms (extension on an end of terrace). Approx 14 radiators that all had new thermostats fitted. Central heating system is about 30 years old - along with the old boiler. The boiler just gave up in the end!0

You could get it moved but could cost quite a bit.
Boiler to move, pipes to alter, elec to alter, poss of new flue if old one gets damaged when roving it.
I would say it would cost anywhere from £250 to about £400 to move.X British Gas engineer and X BG sales adviser.
Please don,t let this put you off.0
