Community Festival - Which Not for Profit group?

Hi there,
Sorry if this is a bit long winded, wanted to include as many facts as possible....
My friend and I are attaining the running of a comminty based festival (involves mainly community members/artists/businesses) and wondering which Not for Profit group I should be?
The aims behind the event are to benefit, support and innovate arts and music sustainably within the local rural community, attracting audiences from further a field and helping local artists to reach national acclaim.
The event has been running for the last couple of years under a limited company but, after liquidation, has been handed over to a couple of local individuals (to which i am one) to run for the benefit of the community.
Although some people might work on a wage on the run up to the festival or businesses/people be paid for their services, profit from the event will be reinvested in to the event and the local community.
The income from tickets and trade stalls was over £100'000 at last years event.... although the expenditure was slightly more than the income.
I have been told that I need to start a CIC or a Community Benefit Society, but not sure which one or how to go about it.
Thanks for your time and any advice is warmly received :rudolf:

Welcome, and although I'm not sure I can be much help I hope someone will be along soon ...
Are you planning to use volunteers at all? I imagine you are, so I'd suggest you google your local area plus volunteer to find your local volunteer bureau. They may have information on what your best course of action is.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Business Link offers some great advice:
http://www.businesslink.gov.uk/bdotg/action/layer?topicld=1077475650 this is quite an intensive guide and tells you about social enterprises and how to set them up and how to set up a community interest company.0
