lost administrator password

Hi,

I'm using my DD's laptop, as a guest, as she's been doing for months now because she's forgotten her user password.
Problem is, apart from the obvious, that I can't install antivirus or pop up blockers because I have insufficient permissions.

Any ideas?

hmmm was there a password ?

Tried the "administrator" account and blank password - do ctrl+alt+Del twice at the select account screen after you have logged off, if you do not see the login name box initially.... ?

failing that - use an NT admin password resetter - look here for a bootable CD or floppy disk http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/

When you use it - set password to blank for greater success

Poor people spend then save what's left.
  • Reboot into safe mode (F8), and login as administrator
