Where to sell laptop

I'm considering replacing my 3 yer old laptop.
It's working well and decent spec (good for its age) but it's literally weiging me down on travels.
I am wondering: where would be the best place to sell it?
I'm a little concearned about being scammed (in any case I won't send it abroad and I am thinking of only doing pick-up only. I'd be happy to show it's working upon pcik-up)

if it's reasonable, put it in your local paper's free ads section, for a realistic price. I've sold a few like that, and it saves on ebay & paypal fees

p.s. and it's a cash transaction

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

I'd be very wary of selling an old laptop. I recently returned one to an employer and it took me ages to remove all my data. It's amazing how many places your "deleted" files are replicated.
So you need to delete everything and re-install the operating system. At least. Even then can you really be sure none of your personal data is hiding there somewhere?0 -
I just normally sell any old computers on eBay or tell my Facebook friends about them.0

You can't be scammed if the money is in your account before you part with the goods and you send it by a trackable method. The buyer is the one who risks a scam.No free lunch, and no free laptop
